Update on Quipeio/Angola mission

Despite the difficult times that we’re all living in, with the COVID-19 limiting us on several aspects of our daily lives, we’re glad to share some of the updates and good news that the mission in Quipeio is bringing.  Over the last couple of months, during school recess due to social distancing policies, the mission has been focusing on rebuilding and upgrading some parts of the school, to prepare to welcome back students shortly on a more equipped and suitable infrastructure.

The work started with the objective to rebuild boys and girls dormitories and dining hall, renovating the roof, replacing windows and repairing the internal floor. These repairs will give more comfort to the children, making the dormitories suited to storm rains, heavy summer heat and maintaining a good environment for sleep and rest. The dining hall is also part of this renovation, with a new roof structure which will allow us to protect the children from the effects of rainy season.

All the work is being carried out by the community members themselves and financially supported by the Touch Care Foundation. We are sure that it will be a big improvement for the day to day activities and for the mission overall. We’re proud to see how dedication and collaboration can transform resources into great ideas and solutions for the benefit of the entire community.
